Congratulations to Kirstie!

I’m sure you’ll join us in congratulating Kirstie on her latest achievement!

Kirstie is now our youngest newly qualified stylist, in the last 2 years Kirstie has attended college and received in salon training.

I’m sure those of you that know Kirstie will know how much she has been looking forward to becoming qualified.

Well done!

Kirstie will have her own price list , if you wish to have an appointment with Kirstie please contact the salon for more information.

Congratulations to Abby!

Abby qualified as a stylist in August this year. Attending Catten College twice a month and having in salon training once a week she worked hard towards her goal.

During her training she took part in a competition and entered Ashley as her model. The theme was Fireworks; she created an amazing funky look using additional pieces of hair she had coloured to make vibrant explosions within her creation. (Photo to follow)

I know she is looking forward to being a stylist at last!

I’m sure those of you, who know Abby will also join me in congratulating her.

Ashley Runs London Marathon: UPDATE

As you know I ran the London marathon to raise money for a local charity St Helena Hospice. I was fortunate to receive one of their ‘fifteen bond places’ which meant that I had to raise a total of £1500.

I had to start training very hard and frequent to be able to make it to the end of the 26.2 mile marathon, I started my training in January and finished in April, i upped my mileage weekly and finished on a 14 mile run. I am happy to say that I made it to the end it took a total of 5hours 24 minuets. It was a fantastic day and very emotional, it was great to see the L.E.J. girls and my family which gave me that extra boost to keep going.

Thank you so much to all of you that sponsored me and for all the kind donations. With all of your help and support I managed to raise in the region of £2000.

Ashley Runs London Marathon

SALON staff donned retro moustaches and running gear to help a marathon competitor support a local cause.
Ashley Knudson is currently in training to run the London Marathon next month in aid of St Helena Hospice.
To help her reach her £1,500 target, all staff at the L.E.J Hair Gallery, based at Colchester Business Park, dressed as the Seventies guys from the 118 118 TV adverts.
She said donations on the day totalled about £170, while race nights and other events were helping her towards her total.
“I’m raising it for St Helena because I would rather do it for a local charity, so I can see where the money’s going,” she said.

Well done to Ashley, she completed the marathon in 5 hours 25 min’s! The salon girls went up to London, and caught up with her at Canary Wharf to cheer her on and show their support.
A huge Thank You to all the clients of L.E.J Hair Gallery who gave so generously enabling Ashley to reach her goal.
Watch this space to find out her final total raised.

Think Pink Winner!

Ashley won the competition back in 2007, using pink as the theme she had to create a look accompanied with a mood board, showing her ideas and how she was inspired to create her winning look. with over 300 spectators to cheer them on, 96 competitors from salons across the region gave their all in four individual competitions.

News Update

As Sam promised back in January, we would keep you up to date with the L’Oreal colour trophy competition that Vanessa and Hayley entered.

The build up was so much fun and slightly nerving but both really enjoyed creating their bespoke look for each model.

Only four salons can qualify to each of the regional finals, unfortunately neither Vanessa nor Hayley have been selected this year to go through to the next stage.
I would like to say that both Ellis and I are extremely proud of both girls; the standard of the work that they produced was fantastic.

L’Oreal Colour Thropy 2009

Here at L.E.J Hair Gallery we are about to take part into the journey of a lifetime.
We are currently preparing to enter the L’Oreal Colour Trophy 2009. This is one of the largest competitions in the hairdressing industry.
Vanessa will be entering the competition where she will be creating a female total look. Within this she must create a forward thinking cut and finish complemented by fashionable colouring techniques. The outfit and make up must be carefully selected to create the final look.
Hayley will also be entering the L’Oreal colour Trophy Professional Young Colourist award, this will also be a female look concentrating on the hair style and colour. It must demonstrate a wearable, commercial yet fashionable High Street look.

Both Vanessa and Hayley will enter the competition by the 23rd Feb where we will be waiting patiently to hear if we have made it to the Regional Finals.
The Regional Finals take place on the 23rd March in Cambridge.
Be sure to check for updates to see if we get through!
